My Pugs

This was Buster Brown. Buster Brown (the 1st) was an amazing dog. We weren't going to have anymore so at six months I took him to the vet to be neutered. I never dreamed I would get a call from the vet telling me he'd died. I was so upset. I felt like I had killed him. He was a perfectly healthy dog (or so we thought) and just like that, he was dead. I drove to the vet and picked him up. He was wrapped in a towel and his eyes were open, looking right at me. It was horrible. I still ache in my heart when I think of him. He was so sweet. I missed his little paws tapping on the floor, following me everywhere I went. I missed him curling up next to me at night.

So, here came Buster Brown (the 2nd) . . .

I named him Buster Brown, because in my own selfish way, I guess I was trying to replace the one I lost. This Buster, however, had a totally different personality than the 1st. Anyway, he quickly became a part of our family. Then a few months later, the breeders that we bought #1 from called to ask if we would like to purchase the male they kept (#1's brother). The owners were suffering with poor health and thought they'd ask us first. I was in the car that day and brought him home. Can a dog be a soul mate? If so, he is.

And so begins my journey with Otis da Milo . . .

I say journey, because he is very unique. He can't stand his tail. Not only does he not like you to touch it, he himself doens't even like it; like it's not even part of him. He attacks it on a regular basis. If you give him a good scrap to eat, he will sit there for hours on end negotiating with his tail on who will eventually get the scrap. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen. Also, if he doesn't know you and you turn around and walk away from him he will bite you on the back of your leg. I've had Pugs all my life and never seen one do this either. So, make sure you walk away from him backwards! One thing I know for sure is he stole my heart the day I brought him home.

Ok, so by now I've decided I can't have them neutered. Too much risk of death. So, Buster (the 2nd) mates with my sisters female . . . she has caught the bug by now too. We decided to keep a male -- Dapper Dan and my mom would keep his sister -- Dippity Doo. Problem is that my moms female -- Baby Belle (which was the 1st Buster's sister) had become pregnant from Buster (2nd) also. No, Otis can't seem to get past his tale and mate, so we know it's not his. So instead of my mom getting Dippity Doo, we kept her also.
Here's Dippity Doo and Dapper Dan . . .

Ok, so now we get to the present and my newest addition to the "clan". I never knew you could have a white pug, but here she is . . .

This is Lily White

and she's SOOOO precious!
